About

Dana Robinson is a partner of US IP Attorneys, P.C. where his practice focuses on trademark prosecutiontrademark licensingcopyrights, and business transactions. Previously, Dana managed the trademark practice at the Las Vegas intellectual property firm Quirk & Tratos (now Greenberg Traurig). Dana was involved in early due diligence and trademark work on the Strip’s biggest brands: Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Wynn, Palms, Treasure Island, Sunset Station, Stratosphere, Golden Nugget, Sunbelt Communications, Teligence Communications, and UNLV.

Dana manages a large portfolio of trademarks for a broad range of clients in various industries, due diligence, filing, prosecution, foreign trademark management.  He has extensive litigation experience in California and Nevada, in both state and federal court including trademark, copyright, patent, and business litigation. In addition, he handles administrative actions before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Dana’s current practice provides a highly efficient and highly expert trademark practice that rivals that of any nationwide firm. While he handles cases for large companies across a variety of industries, including telecom, gaming, food industries, manufacturing, and technology.  But, his practice includes many small businesses.  He has used his expertise to help clients who find themselves as “David” up against “Goliaths” and negotiated favorable outcomes against such major corporations as Nike, Diesel, Adidas, SunPower, and The North Face, among others.

Dana graduated from the University of San Diego, J.D., cum laude (1999).  He was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Contemporary Legal Issues.  Dana received his M.A. from Azusa Pacific University (1996) and his B.A. from Life Pacific College (1992).

Dana has served as an adjunct professor at University of San Diego School of Law, and is a founder of the Intellectual Property Law Externship. He also teaches Intellectual Property Survey, Trademark Strategies, IP & Business, and seminars in intellectual property law. Dana is also adjunct professor of law at California Western School of Law, where he teaches Trademark Law.

Dana has spent 20 years as an active entrepreneur and investor and continues to advise his portfolio investments. Dana has sat on non-profit and for-profit boards. He speaks on a variety of topics relevant to entrepreneurship.  Dana has been the co-founder of several start-ups, including Esquivel, a shoe company that has become famous for beautiful made-in-California shoes; Modern Cooperage, a unique wine barrel manufacturer using a patented oak stave system to save the industry from the need to use full-oak barrels; and eChristian, which grew to the largest religious audiobook publisher on the web before selling to Shamrock Capital in 2016.

Dana is author of the book Opt Out, Rethink Success. Reinvent Rich. Realize the Life You Want, and co-hosts the Opt Out Life podcast, focusing on alternative approaches to entrepreneurial success. He is also the author of eight e-learning courses available on Linkedin Learning.

Dana’s licenses include the California Bar (2000), Nevada Bar (1999), California Dept of Real Estate (Broker 2002-present), and FINRA Series 79 (M&A/Securities License 2008-2013).
